Are you Interested in becoming a product owner?

It may be easier than you think.

South Africa is adequately endowed with pristine wilderness locations, and if you own or have access to one or more of these, your options may suddenly multiply.

Owning Your Own Camp

Taking advantage of peak travel demand times without having to carry onerous overhead costs during the off seasons may be the most obvious benefit. The simplicity of a ‘pop-up camp’ in its design and execution would be another.

We ask and answer some frequent questions below.

This is largely dependent on the nature of the location, for example sites which are free from debris and undergrowth require less time than locations which are densely bushed. Having said this a camp is generally ready in 4 days from arrival on site to ready for guest check-in.

Whilst camps are almost infinitely scalable, the ideal number of guests in camp including both adults and children is 36.

A difficult question to answer with absolute certainty as each differs slightly from the next, and the cost calculation is also dependent on the number of guest tents which impacts the size and number of all other kit and equipment. Having said this a camp cost can vary between R500,000 and R750,000.

No formal hospitality training is required, however being hospitable by nature is a must.

Typically a camp can be transported in a 6 ton closed body truck.

Some technical ability is very useful, but not essential.
